The first training sessions and matches of Khudzhamov as the goalkeeper coach of the Ukrainian national team

The head of the Brave GK brand, the ex-football player of Donetsk Shakhtar and FC Mariupol, Rustam Khudzhamov, has already begun active work. Khudzhamov conducted the first training sessions at the beginning of last week when the Ukrainian national team played a draw with Germany - 3:3. In 2023, the German national team has no official matches as the Bundesteam already has a direct ticket to the final round as the organizer of Euro-2024. The friendly game against the Ukrainian team became the 1000th jubilee in history.

Germany - Ukraine

Already at the 6th minute, Marius Wolf scored the first goal for Germany thanks to a deflection. The Ukrainians equalized (1:1) at the 19th minute. Viktor Tsygankov shot the German team's goal after an assist from Tymchyk. Just 4 minutes later, the blue-yellows managed to take the lead (2:1) thanks to a strike from Mykhailo Mudryk: he shot inaccurately, but a deflection from one of the German players helped drive the ball into the net. The goal assist came again from Tymchyk.

Later, Dovbyk, as a result of good pressing, passed the ball to Tsygankov, who scored 3:1. However, by the end of the match, the Germans managed to save their 1000th jubilee game thanks to goals from Kai Havertz and Joshua Kimmich (3:3).

All 90 minutes of the match of the Ukrainian national team in Bremen, Anatoliy Trubin played in goal. About his experience of interacting with goalkeeper coach Khudzhamov, he said: "It is very interesting for me to work with him because he is a young coach, recently finished his career. I remember his penalty for Shakhtar and FC Kharkiv from childhood. Every coach gives something new, but Khudzhamov doesn't just train, he seems to play himself, understands the nuances. It's curious. I like it."

North Macedonia - Ukraine

On June 16, the first match of the Ukrainian national team took place with Rustam Khudzhamov as the goalkeeper coach. It was a great game, in which the Ukrainians first lost two goals, then managed to equalize and take the lead. This is only the second time in history when our team has managed to play a handicap of two goals.

"I am proud of the character of the guys who were able to change the course of the match in the second half and play back against a strong team on the road. I think this is a serious achievement. Plus, very important three points, we move on!", said Sergey Rebrov about this match.

Until the 62nd minute, Ukraine was losing 0:2, but then Ilya Zabarnyi and Efim Konoplya scored. The Germans, however, immediately went ahead again, but at the 83rd minute, Viktor Tsygankov snatched victory for the Ukrainian team.

By the way, Efim Konoplya's goal in the match against North Macedonia became the 100th for our team in the European Championships. Among Ukrainian players in history, Andriy Shevchenko scored the most - 12 goals.

Ukraine - Malta

On June 19, another match of the Ukrainian national team took place within the qualifying round of the European Championship - against Malta. The goal was again defended by Anatoliy Trubin, who managed to keep it under lock. The score of the match - 1:0 in favor of the Ukrainian national team. The only goal was scored from a penalty at the 72nd minute by Viktor Tsygankov. Interestingly, this was not the only 11-meter of the game: Yarmolenko did not score a penalty in the second half.

Thus, the match against Malta ended with the second consecutive victory of the "blue-yellows" in the qualifying round. Thanks to this result, Ukrainians are in 2nd place in the group with 6 points.
