September 4th marked a historic day for the "Kolos" club. On this day, the women's team made their UEFA Champions League debut, playing their first match in the qualifying round against Amsterdam's "Ajax".

"Kolos" started the game confidently, and already in the first half, our girls managed to surprise the experienced opponent. At the 26th minute, Violeta Tian scored the historic first goal for "Kolos" in European competitions after a long pass from Dayana Semkiv. However, Amsterdam's "Ajax," last season's Dutch runners-up, didn't give up. In the second half, they equalized: at the 65th minute, Huukstra headed a goal past Daria Kelyushik following a cross from the right flank.
The main time of the match ended in a draw, and the game went into overtime. Here, "Ajax's" experience came into play: three accurate shots in extra time brought them a 4:1 victory. Despite the defeat, "Kolos" demonstrated a will to win. And this is especially important for a team making its first appearance on the European stage.
