Jakub Surovcik, the goalkeeper of Prague's Sparta, is actively preparing for the 2024/2025 Czech Championship and Champions League matches. In the summer of 2023, Surovcik signed a contract with the prestigious Czech club and has since been continuously developing, training with the best players in the country. Surovcik is heavily involved in the main team’s training sessions, aiming to solidify his position and get ready for important matches on the international stage.

Sparta Prague confidently passed the third qualifying round of the Champions League, defeating the Romanian club FCSB (formerly Steaua Bucharest) with a score of 2:3 away. The first match, held on August 6, 2024, at Sparta's home stadium, ended in a 1:1 draw, making the return match decisive. In the return match on August 13, Sparta showcased their class, securing a victory and an aggregate score of 4:3 over two matches, which allowed them to advance to the playoffs.
In the previous, second qualifying round, Sparta Prague faced the Irish club Shamrock Rovers twice. The first match took place in Ireland, where Sparta won 2:0. In the return match, held in Prague, the team also won with a score of 4:2, giving them a comfortable advantage and secure advancement to the next round.
Now, Sparta faces two crucial matches against the Swedish club Malmö in the Champions League playoffs, which will determine their participation in the group stage of the tournament.
Currently, Sparta Prague is confidently leading the 2024/2025 Czech Championship, continuing their winning streak since the beginning of the season. The club holds the top position with a perfect record: 12 points from 4 matches and a goal difference of +7. In the 2023/2024 season, Sparta also claimed the championship title, allowing them to participate in the Champions League.
In addition to his involvement with the first team, Surovcik also occasionally plays for Sparta Prague's second team, which competes in the Czech Republic’s second-tier league — the National Football League.
