He was brought up by “Dynamo Kiev”. Since 2005, he began his professional career at Dynamo-3 and Dynamo-2. In the second half of 2007/08 he played on loan for FC CSKA Kyiv, in 2009 - for FC Obolon Kyiv, from 2011 to 2012 - for Football Club Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih.In May 2010, Boyko made his official debut in the Ukrainian championship for the first team "Dynamo", where he did not concede a single goal (3: 0). In 2013, he was rented by the FC Dnipro, with which he became the silver medalist of the Ukrainian championship. After the expiration of a lease, he signed a contract with FC Dnipro and became the main goalkeeper of the team. In the 2014/15 and 2015/16, he became the bronze medalist of the Ukrainian Championship and the finalist of the UEFA Europa League.

In January 2016, he signed a contract with the Turkish club Beşiktaş. In August 2016 he was rented by the Spanish club Malaga. In 2018 he played for Dynamo on loan. Here he was taken to the starting lineup, and Boyko managed to win the silver medals of the Ukrainian championship. Soon he signed a contract with Dynamo, and in the Ukrainian Super Cup with Shakhtar, the Kiev team won 0: 1.
