The Lechia Gdańsk team opened the new season with an exciting match against Śląsk, ending in a 1:1 draw. Four out of five Ukrainian players for Lechia participated in the match. Bohdan Sarnavskyi and Ivan Zhelizko started from the beginning, while in the second half, they were joined by Serhiy Buletsa and Bohdan Vyunnik, who also made their Ekstraklasa debuts. Maksym Khlan, another Lechia member, is currently with the Ukrainian Olympic team.

Already in the 12th minute, Tomasz Neugebauer put Lechia ahead with a beautiful long-range goal. One of the key moments of the first half was an incredible save by Bohdan Sarnavskyi in the 24th minute when he deflected a powerful shot from Sebastian Musolik, maintaining his team's lead.
In the second half, Śląsk Wrocław was close to equalizing. In the 48th minute, after a mistake by Sarnavskyi, the ball ended up on the goal line but was cleared at the last moment by Andriy Khindrish. Despite this, Sarnavskyi continued to demonstrate confident play, which helped the team maintain their advantage until the final minutes of the match.
Debutants Serhiy Buletsa and Bohdan Vyunnik also contributed to Lechia's game, coming on in the second half. However, in injury time, Śląsk managed to equalize with a goal from Tommaso Gercio.
The match ended in a 1:1 draw, and Lechia Gdańsk is now preparing for the next game against Motor Lublin, which will take place on Friday at the Polsat Plus Arena in Gdańsk.
This season, Lechia Gdańsk was promoted from the first league to the top division thanks to confident performances and consistent results. The team secured their return to Ekstraklasa by winning a crucial match against Wisła Kraków with a score of 4:3. This victory was achieved thanks to decisive actions by the players, including Sarnavskyi's performance, goals from Tomasz Neugebauer, and Maksym Khlan. Success in the first league was the result of cohesive team work and excellent tactics, allowing Lechia to reclaim their place among the top clubs in Poland.
