In the years 2019-2020, Egor trained at the Dynamo Kyiv academy in Ukraine. Then, from 2020 to 2022, he was at the Shakhtar FC academy. However, the outbreak of war in Ukraine made him look for new horizons. It was then that he received an invitation from the Marcet football academy in Barcelona, which ultimately changed his life.
Moving to Marcet signified more than just a change of scenery—it marked a decisive stage in Egor's career. The requirements were stringent: intensive morning and afternoon training sessions, along with specialized preparation to enhance his physical and technical prowess. Hard work paid off: Egor made significant advancements in his game. His confidence playing with his feet, one-on-one situations, and aerial plays improved considerably.
The culmination of his efforts and dedication came when Carlos Rivero, the Sports Director of the Marcet Academy, informed Egor of Espanyol team's interest in having him join their training. The prospect of moving to such a prestigious club as Espanyol both excited and made Egor nervous. Eventually, "Pericos" signed a three-season contract with him.
Egor's contract with the top Spanish club illustrates how sports, and football in particular, can pave the way to success despite adversities. What started as a response to the grim realities of war in his homeland turned into new opportunities at Marcet and then at Espanyol. With his unwavering passion and determination, Egor Krapivin shows that even in the darkest times, dreams have an astonishing ability to come true.
